[Today’s Weather] Temperature Rises Significantly but Very Dry... Fire Caution

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] On Friday the 19th, temperatures will rise significantly, easing the cold.

The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "On the 19th, warm southwesterly winds will flow in, causing morning temperatures to rise by 1 to 5 degrees compared to the previous day. Additionally, daytime temperatures in most areas will rise to around 10 degrees."

While the entire country will be mostly clear, clouds are expected to increase in the afternoon over the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Yeongseo region. Some parts of the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongdong, some inland areas of Gyeongsang, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and the eastern coast of Gyeongsang will experience very dry air.

In particular, with very strong winds blowing, small sparks could lead to large fires, so heightened awareness and thorough preparation for wildfire and other fire prevention are necessary.

The morning low temperatures are forecasted as follows: △Seoul -5°C △Chuncheon -9°C △Gangneung -1°C △Daejeon -6°C △Cheongju -6°C △Daegu -5°C △Gwangju -3°C △Jeonju -5°C △Busan -2°C △Jeju 3°C.

The daytime high temperatures are expected to be: △Seoul 9°C △Chuncheon 8°C △Gangneung 13°C △Daejeon 10°C △Cheongju 10°C △Daegu 13°C △Gwangju 11°C △Jeonju 11°C △Busan 11°C △Jeju 13°C.

Fine dust levels will be between 'Good' and 'Moderate' across all regions.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "With a large temperature difference of 10 to 20 degrees, please take care of your health to prevent weakened immunity due to sudden temperature changes."
