[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A story about a British mother who ran away with her daughter's boyfriend, leaving behind her daughter and grandchild, has become a hot topic.
According to the British Daily Mail on the 18th, Jess Aldridge (24), who lives in the UK, was expecting her second child with her boyfriend Ryan Shelton (29), a car parts salesman, after having their first child.
Jess moved to a house in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, where her mother Georgina (44) and stepfather Eric (56) lived, while pregnant with her second child. This was because her mother had agreed to help with childcare.
However, after giving birth at the hospital and returning home with her newborn, Jess found that her boyfriend and mother had disappeared. The two had moved together to a new house about 50 km away from the original home.
The mother showed interest in her daughter's boyfriend just a few weeks after the daughter moved in with him and her mother's house.
A few months later, Jess began to realize that her boyfriend and mother were laughing, chatting, and drinking in the kitchen every night. When Jess confronted them about their behavior, both her boyfriend and mother denied their relationship, saying "It's nothing."
Then, on January 28th, when Jess was giving birth to her son at the hospital, she received a shocking text message from her boyfriend Ryan, saying he wanted to end their relationship.
Later, Jess found out that her mother and boyfriend were dating and had moved together to a new house. Her mother told her, "No one knows who they will fall in love with," and Ryan, her boyfriend, said the same. Neither her mother nor Ryan apologized.
What was even more surprising was that the two publicly revealed their romantic relationship on Facebook. Jess said, "Friends who were shocked by this are comforting me."
