[Asia Economy reporters Naju-seok and Park Joon-yi] The communication skills and leadership of Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, have come under scrutiny. Former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop pointed out that there were communication issues during Ahn’s political process.
On the 18th, during the ‘Ahn Cheol-soo - Geum Tae-seop Seoul Mayoral Candidate Unification Debate’ hosted by Channel A, former lawmaker Geum said, "There have been criticisms that candidate Ahn has communication problems," adding, "A three-term lawmaker who served as the general headquarters chief for Ahn’s 2017 presidential campaign said that when he asked where meetings were held, the location was not disclosed."
In response, Leader Ahn said, "There is a decision-making structure in place, and I never make decisions alone," adding, "I cannot be with everyone all the time." He continued, "There have been several instances where misunderstandings arose during the process of meeting in advance to communicate or through phone calls," and said, "Since this is a difficult path, I do not harbor resentment toward those who do not join."
Former lawmaker Geum suggested engaging in conversations with netizens by appearing together on the voice-based social networking service (SNS) ‘Clubhouse’ regarding communication. Leader Ahn also expressed willingness to participate, saying, "I have received a request for Clubhouse and am arranging time to join."
