[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Na Kyung-won, the People Power Party's preliminary candidate running for the Seoul mayoral by-election, expressed on the 18th that she wished there had been "more (debate) opportunities" regarding the debate between Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People Party, and Geum Tae-seop, former Democratic Party lawmaker.
Na stated this during an appearance on BBS Park Kyung-soo's Morning Journal, emphasizing that "the unification of the opposition must be achieved."
Na said, "It would have been better if the two had more opportunities to share their visions and resonate with the citizens," adding, "It seems like it ended after just one debate, and I don't know if there will be further negotiations, but if there were, the public might have been more pleased."
Regarding the recent discussions about a 'coalition government' and joint management of Seoul City, Na mentioned, "I raised the topic of the 'Alliance of Liberal Common Sense,'" stressing that "it is not an 'anti-Moon coalition.'" She explained, "There is a clear value in working together," and added, "Many people fear the irrational anti-liberalism, so those who want to restore freedom should unite."
