Mokdong Pari Park Remodeling... Creating a Cultural Experience Space

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Paris Neighborhood Park, one of the five major parks located in the Mokdong central district of Yangcheon-gu, will be remodeled into a cultural park.

On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 2nd Urban Architecture Joint Committee meeting the previous day and approved the district unit plan amendment as originally proposed.

Paris Park, covering an area of 29,619㎡, was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Korea-France diplomatic relations. With the approval of this plan, construction is expected to begin after the park creation plan is finally approved at the Urban Park Deliberation Committee meeting in April this year.

Hong Seon-gi, Director of Urban Management at Seoul City, said, "By actively introducing cultural programs to Paris Park, residents will be able to enjoy various cultural experiences and leisure activities within the park."

Meanwhile, Yangcheon-gu has been promoting remodeling projects for the five parks located along the Mokdong central axis since 2018. Last year, Yangcheon Park reopened with a lawn plaza and a book resting library. Shintree Park, Mokma Park, and Omok Park are also scheduled to undergo remodeling sequentially next year.
