300 Billion KRW Invested to Develop Hapcheon Medical Valley Industrial Complex

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the establishment of the ‘Hapcheon Medical Valley Industrial Complex’ at the small conference room of the county office, attended by Kim Jung-duk, Chairman of Nextar Technology Co., Ltd., and Choi Woo-yeol, Chairman of Daetong Urban Development Co., Ltd.
On this day, the county decided to provide one-stop administrative services for permits and approvals from groundbreaking to completion to ensure smooth progress of the project, and Nextar Technology and Daetong Urban Development agreed to prioritize hiring Hapcheon residents for companies moving into the industrial complex upon its completion.
The ‘Hapcheon Medical Valley Industrial Complex Development Project’ will invest a total of 300 billion KRW in an area of approximately 590,000㎡ (180,000 pyeong) around Imbuk-ri, Yulgok-myeon, Hapcheon-gun.
The targeted industries include ▲ sterilization and antiviral materials ▲ biodegradable PLA raw materials ▲ medical substances and pharmaceuticals ▲ medical precision optical devices and electrical equipment ▲ warehouse and transportation-related services, and plan to produce eco-friendly products such as ▲ masks (MB filters) ▲ textile and paper products ▲ pharmaceuticals ▲ medical (immunological) supplies and devices.
The county will make its best efforts to develop the industrial complex by listening to residents’ opinions and communicating through briefings and other means to ensure smooth progress of the project.
In May, the county plans to submit the annual industrial complex designation plan to receive an allocation of industrial complex quotas from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The county expects that the establishment of the industrial complex will be an important foundation for recovering the population to 50,000 by creating about 1,000 new jobs, and will have positive effects on regional development such as improving the county’s financial independence.
Chairman Kim of Nextar Technology and Chairman Choi of Daetong Urban Development said, “Hapcheon-gun has a good environment for operating businesses in the future,” and “We will do our best for the Hapcheon Medical Valley Industrial Complex Development Project for the development of the county with a vision.”
Moon Jun-hee, Mayor of Hapcheon-gun, said, “The Hapcheon Medical Valley Industrial Complex Development Project is an active response to revitalize the local economy and overcome the crisis of county extinction due to population decline,” and “We will do our best to support administrative services such as permits and approvals for the industrial complex following the MOA signing.”
