[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Emart announced on the 17th that it will hold the 'Strawberry Champion' event from the 18th to the 24th. During this event, Emart will operate differentiated stores featuring various strawberry varieties, showcasing a total of nine types of strawberries ranging from regular to premium.
Emart has secured 320 tons of strawberries, the largest quantity for a one-week event. Considering that the weekly sales volume during the strawberry peak season around Christmas and New Year is about 150 tons, this amount is more than double the peak season volume.
According to Emart, this year’s strawberry sales surpassed 30 billion KRW, making strawberries the number one winter fruit and ranking second in overall winter product sales.
An Emart official stated, "Thanks to Emart’s variety diversification policy that started last year, various types of strawberries have received great love from customers," adding, "We will continue to secure not only high-quality but also diverse strawberry varieties to provide the best satisfaction to our customers."
