Drunk 20s Sleeping While Driving on Namhae Expressway... Rear Car Collision Injures 2

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] At around 1:30 a.m. on the 17th, near the Jinju Interchange (IC) on the Namhae Expressway heading toward Suncheon in Jinju, Gyeongnam, a BMW passenger car driven by a man in his 50s collided with a stationary Avante vehicle on the highway.

Both drivers were injured in the accident and have been transported to a hospital in the Jinju area for treatment.

According to police investigation, the Avante driver, Mr. Noh (21), who was stopped on the highway, was reportedly in a state of severe intoxication, at a level warranting license cancellation.

The police believe that Mr. Noh fell asleep while driving under the influence, unknowingly stopping his vehicle, which led to the accident. They are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on black box footage and other evidence.
