[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Famous webtoon artist Yaongi (real name Kim Na-young), creator of 'True Beauty,' revealed her elementary school child and confessed to being a single mom. Her partner, fellow artist Jeon Seon-wook, supported her courage.

On the 16th, Yaongi posted on her Instagram, "I have a little one who is more precious than life itself, someone I could put in my eye without pain."

Yaongi said, "While raising my child, I learned a new kind of love and matured. This is the most precious person who became the reason for my life," adding, "There were far more days filled with tears than smiles, but now my child comforts me when I am exhausted," and mentioned that her child is about to become an elementary school student.

She wrote, "Because this is so precious, I was cautious about sharing my personal life with many people," and added, "Thanks to friends and family who reached out to me during counseling and therapy for the most difficult trauma in my life."

In particular, she said, "I was sorry and pushed away until the end, worried that my situation might cause harm, but 'Seon-wook oppa' came to me and held my hand, so I am no longer pessimistic and can live with gratitude."

The mentioned Seon-wook oppa is Jeon Seon-wook, the artist serializing the webtoon 'Free Draw.' Previously, Yaongi had revealed her public relationship with Jeon Seon-wook.

Yaongi also expressed gratitude toward her parents, saying, "I really love my parents who fully take care of their busy and struggling daughter and also look after my child. I usually don’t say thank you seriously, so I’m expressing it like this."

She continued, "There were hard times when I was drawing with one hand and feeding my child with the other. My child’s language development is still slower than peers, so I’m running around to therapy sessions, struggling," and added, "But I am always thankful to my little one who trusts and loves me the most in the world despite my shortcomings."

About her child, she said, "My child looks and acts just like me, so I worry sometimes, but she is my beautiful child, the most reliable presence in the world," and expressed affection, saying, "Raising a child alone is hard at times, but when I see my child’s smile, all the hardships disappear. I live harder to protect this child."

Finally, Yaongi added, "I am just a webtoon artist, but since many people show interest, I am opening up my personal story like this. I’m very nervous posting this, but thank you for listening to my story."

I want to answer questions many people have been curious about.

I have a little one who is more precious than life itself, someone I could put in my eye without pain. I have cherished and still protect this existence more than my own life. While raising my child, I learned a new kind of love and matured. This is the most precious person who became the reason for my life. There were far more days filled with tears than smiles, but now my child comforts me when I am exhausted.

This child, who has lived as one with me without ever being apart even for a moment, is now becoming an elementary school student, haha. She is the driving force of my life, the most precious existence, and someone I must protect for life, so even when I am tired and struggling every day, I gather strength. Because she is so precious, I was cautious about sharing my personal life with many people.

During the hardest trauma in my life, I went to counseling and took psychiatric medication to endure it. Friends and family reached out their hands first, and even though I was sorry and pushed away until the end, worried that my situation might cause harm, Seon-wook oppa came to me and held my hand, so I am no longer pessimistic and can live with gratitude.

I am just a webtoon artist, but since many people show interest, I am opening up my personal story like this. Raising a child alone is hard at times, but when I see my child’s smile, all the hardships disappear. I live harder to protect this little one.
