[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Hanmi Pharm has renewed and launched the male pattern hair loss treatment 'Moxidil Solution 5%' that is applied by tapping on the scalp.
Moxidil Solution 5% is a product containing minoxidil, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for hair loss treatment, and is an over-the-counter drug authorized for treating male pattern baldness.
Hanmi Pharm reflected various consumer demands from users of the existing product in this renewal by changing the packaging from a spray type to a form that is directly tapped and applied to the hair loss area. This change was made in response to consumer feedback that the active ingredient had difficulty reaching the hair loss area accurately when sprayed.
Hanmi Pharm explained that through the packaging change, they not only addressed these consumer opinions but also improved issues where the spray nozzle would intermittently clog due to the high viscosity of the minoxidil ingredient contacting air, causing the contents to leak outside the package.
Hanmi Pharm reduced the volume from the previous 60㎖ to 30㎖ to allow consumers to use all the contents without waste, lowering the economic burden by up to 70%. Additionally, menthol was added to the renewed product to provide a cooler sensation during use.
A Hanmi Pharm representative said, "We continuously strive to meet and reflect consumers' convenience and needs even after product launch," adding, "We hope this renewed product, which enhances consumer convenience and reduces price burden, will be a good solution for modern people struggling with hair loss."
This product is an over-the-counter drug available at pharmacies without a prescription. It is distributed nationwide through OnlinePharm, a pharmaceutical sales and marketing specialist company.
