[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 15th that it will create a park around the Ipap Tree in Sincheon-ri, Hallim-myeon, Natural Monument No. 185.
The city plans to spend 280 million KRW to create a 936㎡ park around the Ipap Tree by the end of this year to protect the natural monument while improving citizen accessibility.
The Sincheon-ri Ipap Tree is located in the central residential area of the village, and due to difficulties in management, the city compensated nearby houses last year and expanded the designated protection area.
This year, according to the maintenance plan, facilities within the expanded protection area will be removed, and a park consisting of convenience facilities and ceremonial spaces will be created for citizens to use as a cultural space.
A Gimhae City official stated, “We will increase the synergy effect by promoting the Sincheon-ri Ipap Tree and surrounding cultural assets simultaneously in connection with nearby cultural facilities such as Hwapo Stream Wetland Ecological Park.”
