Korea Yakult Appoints 'Lee Dong-guk' as Brand Model for 'Mpro Probiotics Will' Korea Yakult announced on the 15th that it has selected national soccer player Lee Dong-gook, a trending variety show star, as the brand model for 'M Pro Probiotics Will'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Korea Yakult announced on the 15th that it has selected former national soccer player Lee Dong-gook as the brand model for ‘Mpro Probiotics Will’ (hereinafter Mpro Will) and will launch a new campaign.


Korea Yakult captured Lee Dong-gook’s family-first approach to health in a witty visual composition through the new commercial ‘My Great Legacy... Bacteria’ edition. Against the backdrop of numerous trophies symbolizing his glory days, Lee names ‘lactic acid bacteria’ as the ‘legacy’ he most wants to pass on to his children, delivering the message of ‘probiotics for the health of the whole family.’


Korea Yakult expects the model’s family-oriented and healthy image to harmonize well with the brand concept, generating positive synergy.


‘Mpro Will’ is the first health functional food product of the stomach health fermented milk ‘Helicobacter Project Will.’ It is a complex functional product that combines three patented probiotics with licorice extract to simultaneously support stomach and intestinal health.


‘Licorice extract’ is a material certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety that can help inhibit the proliferation of Helicobacter bacteria in the stomach lining. Human application tests have also confirmed significant improvements in 10 functional digestive disorder symptoms, including heartburn, upper abdominal pain, and reflux.


It is also a synbiotic single formulation product containing prebiotics (fructooligosaccharides), which serve as a nutritional source for probiotics. ‘Mpro Will’ is available for purchase through home shopping, the online mall ‘Predit,’ some department stores, and marts.


Kang Dong-wan, Team Leader of Multi-Sales Team 2 at Korea Yakult, said, “‘Mpro Will’ is a hit product that achieved 130,000 units sold through home shopping alone as a product that cares for both stomach and intestinal health,” adding, “We plan to strengthen communication with customers and further increase brand awareness through the new commercial.”
