Wemakeprice Transforms Delivery Envelopes into Bags

5 Types of Upcycling Products Unveiled on the 15th

Wemakeprice Transforms Delivery Envelopes into Bags

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Delivery plastic packaging is reborn as upcycled bags. Wemakeprice announced on the 15th that it will carry out an upcycling project that transforms delivery plastic bags into fashion items. This project is in collaboration with the upcycling vinyl fabric studio 'H22 (Hee)'.

Through this project, 10,000 Wemakeprice delivery plastic bags will be repurposed into bags, pouches, card wallets, and more. Multiple layers of delivery plastic are melted with heat and pressure to create a durable material, which is then used as fabric. The plastic bags are made of low-density polyethylene, which does not emit chemical substances during the heat treatment process and is harmless to the human body.

The products will be unveiled on the crowdfunding platform 'Tumblbug' on the 15th. The lineup includes ▲tote bags ▲mini cross bags ▲two types of pouches ▲card wallets. To prevent unnecessary waste during production, the sizes are determined based on the size of the delivery plastic bags. The tote bag is made by combining six medium-sized bags and one large-sized bag, while the mini cross bag is made by combining four small-sized bags.

To minimize waste during product packaging, Wemakeprice delivery plastic bags used for upcycling and paper cushioning materials were used. The user manual, made from recycled paper, can also be used later as a postcard. Jeon Hana, team leader of Wemakeprice Corporate Communication Team, said, "As waste is explosively increasing due to recent untact consumption, the importance of zero waste is growing day by day," adding, "We hope this process of transforming plastic, which is used for less than 20 minutes on average, into upcycled products will be an opportunity to raise awareness of new uses."
