[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Na Kyung-won, a former lawmaker and a preliminary candidate for the Seoul mayoral by-election from the People Power Party, announced on the 14th that she plans to introduce 700 eco-friendly double-decker electric buses over two years.

Na said, "To reduce congestion on city buses and create a pleasant public transportation environment, we will actively introduce eco-friendly double-decker electric buses."

To this end, she explained, "Out of the total budget of 560 billion won for electric bus introduction, 70 billion won in city funds will be secured annually through national matching funds," adding, "The public management function of the semi-public bus system and private sector efficiency will also be further improved."

Na also stated that she will explain one policy pledge directly every day at 9:20 a.m. via Facebook Live.
