[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] Comedian Hong Hyun-hee shared that she was shocked by a doctor's comment during an ovarian function test for pregnancy planning: "Eggs do not regenerate, and 500 to 1,000 eggs are lost every month."

On the 3rd episode of T-cast E Channel's 'Mom Comfortable Cafe,' which aired on the 11th, Hong Hyun-hee's pregnancy preparation plan was revealed. After being released from two consecutive self-quarantines, she showed her passion for becoming a mother by visiting an obstetrician-gynecologist first.

Hong Hyun-hee said, "I was very busy after getting married. Before I knew it, my age changed to a new decade. I am studying about pregnancy and trying to prepare my body."

Worried about advanced maternal age, Hong Hyun-hee received ovarian function test results showing her ovarian age was actually younger at 38 years old, with 17,000 eggs remaining.

The doctor said, "However, eggs do not regenerate, and 500 to 1,000 eggs are lost every month," adding, "As you get older, the function significantly decreases."

Hong Hyun-hee expressed, "Anyone planning pregnancy should empathize and be aware of this. I was thinking of postponing pregnancy a bit more, but hearing that eggs disappear at the speed of light was shocking and terrifying."
