[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Inavi Systems, a specialized map platform development company under Thinkware, announced on the 9th that it will begin the public beta service of the mobile navigation app 'Inavi Air' for Android.
According to Thinkware, Android Auto is a vehicle mirroring service provided by Google. It supports the use of key functions of Android smartphones on car screens.
The Android Auto beta service of Inavi Air features 'Extreme Air 3D,' Korea's first photorealistic 3D aerial map. This map is based on high-resolution aerial photography data and, following its debut on Apple CarPlay in 2019, is now applied for the first time on Android Auto as well, providing more realistic and intuitive route guidance. Additionally, users can select themed maps such as cartoon maps and nature maps according to driver preferences.
Furthermore, it offers an environment optimized for vehicle display structures along with various features. Thinkware explained that key functions such as ▲customized route guidance ▲constant lane information display ▲traffic summary bar for congestion confirmation ▲photorealistic zoom at intersections enhance the core quality of navigation and maximize safety and convenience during driving.
Inavi Systems is expanding its business in automotive electronics and mobility based on its map platform, which includes the development and operation of the mobile navigation 'Inavi Air' as well as big data and location-based solutions. Recently, it has been developing and expanding a last-mile map platform business dedicated to riders.
Ham Hyungmin, Head of Mobility Tech Group at Inavi Systems, said, "Based on our experience operating Apple CarPlay, we are considering the mobile environment in hand and vehicle connectivity, and during the beta service period, we will enhance completeness to provide users with the optimal driving experience." He added, "We will listen carefully to user feedback during the beta period and quickly reflect it, with plans to launch the official version within the year."
