[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] Comtec System, an affiliate of the ITCEN Group, is entering the AI data center market through collaboration with AI specialist company Acryl.
On the 9th, Comtec System announced that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Acryl to expand the AI data center business. Through this agreement, Comtec System plans to provide a combination of 'AI infrastructure solutions' and Acryl's AI integrated platform 'Jonathan' to major domestic companies and public institutions currently building AI data centers and promoting on-site projects.
According to Comtec System, the AI infrastructure solution includes AI-dedicated storage 'VAST Data,' providing an environment to develop AI infrastructure effectively and economically. Jonathan is Acryl's proprietary platform, selected as a prospective unicorn in the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'Global ICT Future Unicorn Nurturing Project.'
Additionally, Acryl was introduced as a veteran AI company with 10 years of experience and over 100 AI specialists. It has attracted investments from Medici Investment, Bluepoint Partners, LG Electronics, and SK C&C.
Song Yoon-sang, Executive Director of Comtec System, said, "If we combine Acryl's proven AI solutions and expert services with the cloud AI data center infrastructure business we are promoting with global high-tech companies, we will be able to provide a more economical and effective total AI infrastructure solution." He added, "Due to the government's AI New Deal policy triggered by COVID-19, the AI data center construction business is expected to grow rapidly."
Meanwhile, Comtec System is a cloud infrastructure company possessing servers, networks, security, operation software (SW), and related specialized technical personnel for AI data center customers.
