[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Kyobo Bookstore announced that starting from the 8th, customers who order books through the Barodream service can receive their books on the same day without visiting the store through the 'Barodream Same-Day Delivery' service.
Using the delivery service operated by Mesh Korea's comprehensive digital logistics brand 'VROONG', orders placed before 1 PM can be received by 6 PM, and orders placed before 6 PM can be received by midnight. The service fee is 2,500 KRW for delivery of up to 10 books. Delivery is made directly to customers located within a 5 km radius of the three branches: Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun, Jamsil, and Gangnam. The service will gradually expand to Kyobo Bookstore branches nationwide.
Kim Hyung-myeon, Head of Store Business Division at Kyobo Bookstore, said, "We expect to alleviate the inconvenience for customers who urgently need books or have to wait more than a day to receive them," adding, "Especially after COVID-19, many customers prefer contactless services, so we have expanded options for those who find it inconvenient to visit the bookstore in person to pick up their orders."
Kyobo Bookstore has been providing the 'Barodream' O2O service, which allows customers to order online and pick up books at physical stores, since 2009, the first in the bookstore industry. Since then, it has offered various customer convenience services such as 'BarodreamS', where customers can complete payment and immediately take their books at the store, and 'Barodream Quick', which delivers books via quick service. With the addition of 'Barodream Same-Day Delivery', which delivers books ordered online directly from stores, customers are expected to receive their books faster and more conveniently.
