Yangcheon-gu Village Community Resident Proposal Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is seeking resident groups that cooperate and solve village problems on their own.
The district will conduct the '2021 Village Community Resident Proposal Contest Integrated Contest' from February 5 to March 12 to discover sustainable village community activities.
The 'Village Community Resident Proposal Contest' is a project that supports residents to discover and solve village problems under their leadership, aiming to build neighborly networks and strengthen resident autonomy capabilities.
The total budget for this integrated contest is 51 million KRW, with up to 4 million KRW supported per project.
The contest targets four areas: ▲ Our Village Support Project to activate resident meetings through network formation ▲ Alley Agora to promote alley revitalization by organizing alley meetings ▲ Vivid Village Sites to activate idle village spaces such as neglected playgrounds and small parks ▲ Deullak(Rak) Nallak(Rak), where space operators and resident groups unite to activate village spaces. Resident groups including residents with village community experience can apply.
Also, the district prepared an online 'Village Community Integrated Contest Briefing Session' so that anyone interested can watch it on the Yangcheon-gu Village Community Support Center YouTube channel from February 5.
The main contents include project types, implementation schedules, subsidy execution standards, and successful cases of village activities.
Residents interested in the contest can receive pre-consultation provided by the Yangcheon-gu Village Community Support Center and then submit applications through the Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center website.
Detailed information can be found on the Yangcheon-gu website and the Yangcheon-gu Village Community Support Center website.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “The efforts and interest of residents dreaming of the recovery of the village community are the driving force that makes the village lively, so I hope many residents participate in this contest to make the village more exciting and vibrant.”
