[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The Google English site, which introduced the origin of kimchi as China, deleted or corrected the relevant parts to Korea on the 5th after receiving protests from the cyber diplomatic envoy group VANK.

According to VANK, when entering kimchi (Kimchi) on the Google English version, the place of origin was indicated as China. Even when searching for the origin of kimchi (Origin of Kimchi, Kimchi Origin) in the search bar, China appeared.

VANK pointed out that the Google Korean site indicates the origin of kimchi as Korea, showing Google's double standards.

VANK actively protested to Google with its members and sent more than 500 emails, after which Google corrected the origin of kimchi to Korea in the search knowledge graph description.

Park Ki-tae, head of VANK, said, "Google's behavior is evidence that China's blind nationalism and Sinocentrism, which try to claim Korea's kimchi as part of Chinese culture, are spreading worldwide."
