Recruitment Open Until the 16th for Discovering and Nurturing Local Creators and Promoting Valuable Consumption Activities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam and the Changwon City Cultural City Support Center are recruiting local creators to pioneer the up-cycling cultural market 'Maenggeuljang' together until the 16th.
Up-cycling refers to the process of transforming unused or discarded items by adding design or functionality to create products of higher value.
'Maenggeuljang' is a marketplace that promotes valuable consumption activities through eco-friendly products developed by local creators.
The main products of 'Maenggeuljang' include creative up-cycling art products, eco-friendly daily necessities, products that raise awareness about the environment and resource circulation, and products using local agricultural and marine foods, with a particular emphasis on handmade crafts rather than processed goods.
The project schedule includes recruiting local creators, workshops and special lectures by up-cycling experts, establishing an integrated identity (BI) for the cultural market, joint research and development of products to be exhibited at Maenggeuljang, and building a citizen network.
Eligibility for application targets cultural activists such as artists active in Changwon, woodworkers or DIY activists, social entrepreneurs, and cooperatives.
The total number of selected participants is around 20, and the support includes qualification to participate in the up-cycling cultural market held throughout the year.
Joint product development and sales matching the project concept, as well as a certain amount of product development funding, will be provided.
To apply, download the 2021 Up-cycling Cultural Market 'Maenggeuljang' local creator application form from the Changwon City Cultural City Support Center website and submit it via email.
