Discovered 106 Projects Worth 292.4 Billion KRW, Strategically Promoted in Phases

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 5th that it held the ‘2022 National and Provincial Subsidy Project and Public Contest Project Discovery Report Meeting’ in the small conference room of the county office, marking the start of a full-scale system to secure national and provincial funds.

At the report meeting, a total of 106 projects worth 292.4 billion KRW were discovered, and to secure funding, plans are in place to visit Gyeongnam Province, central government ministries, and the National Assembly according to the government budget formulation schedule to make requests.

The county is focusing on securing project funds for ▲ securing future agricultural competitiveness ▲ creating new growth engines and revitalizing the local economy ▲ fostering the tourism industry ▲ expanding living-oriented SOC ▲ creating safe and livable residential conditions.

County Governor Moon Jun-hee said, “In the situation where local finances are poor, securing national and provincial funds is essential to promote major pending projects,” adding, “Policy and budget are inseparable, and no matter how good a policy is, it cannot be implemented without a budget,” and “I will be at the forefront and devote myself to securing national and provincial funds.”

He also urged, “With the mindset of fighting a war to secure the budget, please concentrate all administrative power so that the county can take a step forward through securing national and provincial subsidy projects and selecting public contest projects.”

Meanwhile, the county plans to supplement the projects presented at the report meeting and from March onward, actively visit Gyeongnam Province and central government ministries to explain project feasibility, activate personal networks such as local National Assembly members, and make all-out efforts.
