Held a Meeting Ahead of the Move-in for Over 4,300 New Apartment Units This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City announced on the 5th that it held a meeting with stakeholders of apartment complexes in the city hall conference room the day before to promote sustainable urban development and population inflow.
The meeting was attended by 15 people, including heads of related departments such as the city's Architecture Division and Transportation Division, apartment construction contractors and sales companies, and local real estate industry representatives. They shared progress reports from related departments in preparation for apartment complex move-ins and listened to suggestions, fostering communication.
At the meeting, stakeholders expressed that while the living conditions are satisfactory due to optimal infrastructure such as steelworks and ports, there is a lack of roads and transportation networks connecting to neighboring cities, and concerns were raised about unsold units due to the designation of the area as a real estate adjustment zone.
Park Woo-peng, head of the Gwangyang branch of the Korea Association of Realtors, said, “We appreciate the opportunity to openly discuss difficulties and suggestions,” and added, “We will actively cooperate with the city to participate in attracting and retaining population in Gwangyang.”
Cho Sun-mi, Director of the Strategic Policy Office, stated, “We plan to actively resolve the suggestions raised at the meeting in consultation with related departments,” and added, “We will accelerate efforts to improve living conditions such as education and transportation along with online and offline package promotions to vitalize apartment complex move-ins.”
Deputy Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “The long-awaited project of completing and selling premium new apartments in Gwangyang City will officially begin this year,” and added, “We will encourage many outsiders to move into the newly supplied apartments to increase the city’s population and lay the foundation for growth.”
Meanwhile, about 4,300 households in eight apartment complexes are scheduled to be completed in the Gwangyang area this year.
