[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] NCSoft's annual sales have surpassed 2 trillion won for the first time in history.
On the 5th, NC announced that last year's sales reached 2.4162 trillion won, and operating profit was 824.8 billion won. These figures represent a 42% and 72% increase compared to the previous year, respectively. Both sales and operating profit are record highs.
The fourth-quarter results recorded sales of 561.3 billion won and operating profit of 156.7 billion won. Sales increased by 5% and operating profit by 11% compared to the previous year.
Looking at annual sales by region, Korea recorded 2.013 trillion won, North America and Europe 94.4 billion won, Japan 54.8 billion won, and Taiwan 35.9 billion won. Royalty sales amounted to 218 billion won.
By product, mobile games recorded annual sales of 1.6784 trillion won. Among these, Lineage M accounted for 828.7 billion won, and Lineage 2M for 849.6 billion won.
PC online game sales were in the order of Lineage at 175.7 billion won, Lineage 2 at 104.5 billion won, Aion at 45.6 billion won, Blade & Soul at 72.2 billion won, and Guild Wars 2 at 61.2 billion won.
Annual mobile game sales grew 72% year-on-year due to the release of Lineage 2M. Aion's fourth-quarter sales increased by 133% year-on-year following the launch of the classic server.
NC plans to release new mobile games Blade & Soul 2 and Trickster M domestically in the first half of 2021, and to service Lineage 2M in Taiwan and Japan.
