According to Bloomberg on the 4th (local time), Musk posted a series of tweets supporting the virtual currency Dogecoin, featuring an image of a Shiba Inu dog.
Musk wrote on Twitter, "Dogecoin is the people's cryptocurrency," and "Not high, not low, just Doge."
He also posted a meme?an image mimicking popular internet phrases and actions?superimposing his own face and the Shiba Inu's face onto the scene from Disney's animated film The Lion King, where the shaman mandrill lifts the young protagonist 'Simba.'
The price of Dogecoin surged sharply that day.
Musk also tweeted, "I have become the meme of the short (short-seller) destroyer." He shared news about a satellite launch using the Falcon 9 rocket from his company SpaceX.
Earlier, on the 2nd, Musk suddenly announced on Twitter that he would "pause tweeting for a while," without revealing specific reasons.
