According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 5th, five confirmed cases were identified from various infection routes the previous night, classified as cases 1,867 to 1,871.
Case 1,867 is related to Jeonnam case 738, where infections have been occurring consecutively. Jeonnam case 738, residing in Gwangju, was confirmed positive on the 27th of last month, with an unclear infection route. The virus has rapidly spread mainly among family members, with a total of 12 related confirmed cases.
Case 1,868 is linked to an adult arcade and was confirmed positive after symptoms appeared during self-quarantine and subsequent testing.
Case 1,869 was identified as a contact of case 1,861, who was confirmed positive earlier the same day. The infection route of case 1,861 has not yet been confirmed.
Cases 1,870 and 1,871 were classified as contacts related to Gwangju TCS International School and Hyojeong Nursing Hospital, respectively, and were under self-quarantine. Case 1,870 developed symptoms during self-quarantine, while case 1,871 tested positive in a test conducted before the end of self-quarantine.
