An Sang-tae's Wife Targets Downstairs Neighbor Again "The Truth Will Emerge Over Time..."
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Comedian Ahn Sang-tae's wife, Jo In-bin, posted a message seemingly targeting the downstairs neighbor regarding noise between floors, and the neighbor responded with a detailed rebuttal. The neighbor conflict triggered by the noise issue does not seem to be resolving easily.
Previously, Jo posted on her Instagram on the 18th of last month a picture of a person in a dinosaur costume playing guitar and singing upstairs, along with the caption "The poor celebrity living upstairs, the poor keyboard warrior living downstairs." Netizens suspected that the Ahn couple was targeting the neighbor who exposed the noise issue.
Jo also recently added hashtags and wrote, "The truth becomes clearer as time passes," and "Since moving in, they have suddenly visited our home at least 10 times a month. Even though we apologized and tried to be careful, there have been over 30 intercom complaints through the security office and dozens of times sending people through the management office."
She continued, "Even if other houses hammer nails, they send people to complain to our house. Complaints come even when the baby is not home or sleeping. They complain immediately if something falls from the refrigerator. They leave anonymous malicious comments. They capture unrelated photos and write malicious expos?s," adding, "Why do you omit the fact that we apologized and that you complained countless times? Even though we said we would move, you distorted the moving date and house price to attack us. I have a lot to say but won't say it. If I talk, it will last all night," she revealed.
She added, "There must have been unavoidable noise despite our caution and efforts. Sorry. We did not live carelessly without consideration."
A netizen who identified themselves as a resident living below the Ansangtae family posted a rebuttal to Joinbin's claim. Photo by Online Community Capture.
In response, a person claiming to be a downstairs resident of Ahn Sang-tae, identified as A, opened up on an online community on the 3rd, saying, "After seeing the article about Ahn Sang-tae's wife, I realized our family was being targeted."
A said, "When we moved in around February, I was seven months pregnant, and now the baby is eight months old," and questioned, "Has the noise issue improved at all as the baby grew to eight months after birth?"
Regarding Jo's claim that they visited the house at least 10 times, A rebutted, "My husband visited exactly three times. He politely spoke with hands clasped, but Ahn Sang-tae said, 'Do you know that visiting like this is illegal? Are you going to tie up the baby?' Since then, we have not visited. We communicated through the security guard and management office."
Regarding Jo's statement about apologizing for the noise, A said, "We never heard an apology," and lamented, "When we politely asked during the first and second visits, 'Is the baby running around?' they gave a formal 'Yes, sorry,' which seems to be what they call an apology. But since the post was made, a lot of time has passed, and there has been no apology, only targeting posts."
About the claim of over 30 intercom complaints through the security office, A said, "Didn't you say visiting is illegal? Was it that annoying to communicate through the security and management offices?"
Regarding the claim that the downstairs was contacted when nails were hammered in other houses, A explained, "It was only once during interior construction next door to Ahn Sang-tae's house, and it was after the construction period stated in the official notice had ended, so we contacted them about the noise. Later, the management office contacted us again and said the noise was due to repairs after the construction."
Regarding the accusation of leaving anonymous malicious comments, A firmly denied, "Sue me for malicious comments. I will provide my computer and phone to the cyber investigation unit to check if there are any malicious comments. I have never written any."
Finally, A pleaded, "No apology is necessary. Just please stop running. Even while writing this, I can hear thumping sounds from the ceiling."
Earlier, on the 12th of last month, A had posted on an online community complaining about discomfort caused by noise from Ahn Sang-tae's family.
A said, "I politely asked my husband to go and request twice, but nothing improved," and expressed frustration, "My husband came back with a red face and said, 'Do you know visiting like this is illegal?' 'You are very sensitive,' 'Then should we tie up the baby?' 'We put down two mats in the house because of complaints; please check with your eyes,' he said."
Following the controversy, Ahn Sang-tae admitted fault but said there was a misunderstanding and announced plans to move.
In an interview with a media outlet, Ahn said, "I apologize that the baby was indeed running. I am looking for a house on the first floor or a pilotis structure without downstairs neighbors to move into."
He added, "I also responded sensitively due to misunderstandings about the neighbor's interior construction, and I apologize for that as well. The asking price has been lowered."
