[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Seoul Shilla Hotel announced on the 5th that 'rose' motif products are popular ahead of Valentine's Day.


Seoul Shilla Hotel's bakery 'Pastry Boutique' analyzed last year's Valentine's Day sales and found that products featuring rose flower motifs were especially popular. The Valentine's Day cake 'Touch of Rose,' shaped like rose petals, accounted for 35% of total cake (10 types) sales on February 13-14 last year. Sales of rose-related products such as ros? wine and ros? champagne were also concentrated on 'romance days' like Valentine's Day, White Day, and Christmas.


Seoul Shilla Hotel has released a limited edition rose petal-shaped cake 'Touch of Rose' ahead of this year's Valentine's Day. This is the sixth consecutive year the Valentine's Day signature cake is offered only in February, and it has gained popularity as the 'cake for lovers' due to the pink rose petals gently resting on top of the cake.


'Touch of Rose' is made with an Earl Grey tea sponge topped with rose and lychee-scented fresh cream, styled to look like a rose on top. This year, the hotel also introduced 'Rose Pearl Chocolate' for the first time. It is a chocolate truffle flavored with raspberry and lychee pur?e infused with rose scent, characterized by the subtle rose aroma enveloping the fresh flavors of raspberry and lychee. The heart-shaped chocolate bar 'Heart Praline Choco Stick' is also newly introduced this year. These products are available for purchase until March 14.


Meanwhile, Seoul Shilla Hotel's French restaurant 'Continental' is also offering a Valentine's Day special course meal. Guests can enjoy Continental's signature dishes made with premium ingredients such as caviar, black truffle, and scallops from Maine, USA, along with Valentine's Day event menu items.


All dessert menu items are themed in red to add romance to Valentine's Day. Raspberry mousse topped with meringue shaped like a swan and heart-shaped chocolates made with caramel, cream, and cacao nibs will be prepared.


Continental's 'Valentine Special' course consists of ▲Osetra caviar and sea urchin pur?e ▲beef tartare with poached egg and black truffle ▲beef consomm? ▲grilled scallops ▲lobster ▲Korean beef 1++ sirloin steak ▲dessert, and is available only on Valentine's Day.
