[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 3rd that it held a gift delivery ceremony at Jinju Sports Complex to celebrate the Lunar New Year.


At the ceremony, gifts such as rice, ramen, and gift certificates were delivered to 43 social welfare facilities and about 7,200 low-income households.


The Jinju Welfare Foundation also delivered holiday gift sets and other gifts to 12 organizations for the disabled and 680 low-income households.


After the ceremony, Mayor Jo Gyu-il visited two elderly care facilities, including the House of Happiness in Geumsan-myeon, delivering daily necessities and other gifts, and encouraged the residents and workers of social welfare facilities.


Mayor Jo said, "In these difficult times of prolonged COVID-19, the need for sharing hands is even more urgent," adding, "We will continue to implement various welfare policies to ensure that residents of social welfare facilities are not marginalized and do our best to create a happy community where everyone lives well together."
