[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Com2uS announced on the 2nd that it has acquired a 57% stake in game developer OL.M and taken over management control.
With this acquisition, Com2uS has secured OL.M's PC game development capabilities, game intellectual property (IP), and mobile games from its subsidiary Funple.
Founded in 2000, OL.M is a mid-sized game company that has accumulated development skills and global service know-how by servicing PC games such as "Critica Online" and "Lunia Legend" for a long time.
The representative title "Critica Online" has been enjoyed by over 20 million members in more than 70 countries since its release in 2013. "Lunia Legend," which won the Presidential Award for Digital Content in 2007, also has 5 million users in over 80 countries.
Through this acquisition of OL.M, Com2uS has secured PC game development capabilities, especially technology such as in-house engine development and utilization of various commercial engines, establishing a foundation for multi-platform expansion of its game IP.
Com2uS plans to mutually cooperate on the development of new games and global services that OL.M is preparing.
Meanwhile, Com2uS began its first overseas merger and acquisition (M&A) last year by acquiring the German game company "Out of the Park Developments," and has continued strategic investments in several other companies.
Going forward, Com2uS plans to actively pursue investments and M&A in promising domestic and international companies, focusing on the game and cultural content sectors, steadily securing new corporate competitiveness.
