[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Plant M announced on the 2nd that it will supply Hyundai Motor Company with a digital signage-based ‘Production Process Digital Standardization Equipment System.’ Plant M has successfully diversified its customer base from the food and beverage and distribution industries to the manufacturing sector by acquiring new clients in manufacturing.
Plant M is an online and offline digital content and solution platform company that provides in-store music services, menu boards and brand promotion video services using digital signage, advertising and marketing services, and electronic magazine services. It is a 100% subsidiary of Plant Net.
Last year, the company made efforts to expand its core business customer base into various industrial sectors. Despite the challenging environment due to COVID-19, it has achieved consecutive contract wins. According to the company, the rapid sales strategy and differentiated service competitiveness in response to the rapidly changing market conditions were key factors not only in the contract with Hyundai Motor Company but also in signing digital signage supply contracts with religious organizations such as Dongdo Seonsa.
A company representative explained, “To overcome the difficulties in the store-centered business environment caused by COVID-19, we promoted the development of various business models. As a result, we developed a digital signage model that can deliver information flow in the manufacturing process on the production floor more conveniently and accurately based on digital signage, and it has become possible to expand this as a new model for digital signage utilization in the future.”
The digital signage-based ‘Production Process Digital Standardization Equipment System’ provided by Plant M to Hyundai Motor Company is a web-based service that allows real-time monitoring of the entire production process quality completion system. It is expected to significantly reduce installation and operational costs compared to the existing set-top box-based monitor systems. Additionally, remote control is possible without on-site dispatch in case of malfunctions, which is expected to improve operational convenience. The digital signage display panels use Samsung Electronics products.
CEO Kwangwoo Lee stated, “This contract is significant in that the digital signage business has expanded its references to manufacturing companies,” and added, “Please look forward to Plant M growing as a leading online and offline digital content and solution platform company that provides innovative services offering new experiences to consumers in line with market changes.”
