To Prevent Infections Among Elderly, the Main Education Group, Dobong-gu Resident Informatization Education Operated Online... Real-Time Attendance and Q&A Available by Joining 'Dobong-gu 1 Education Center' Channel During Lecture Hours
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) will operate online citizen informatization education from February for local seniors and computer beginners who want to use the COVID-19 period as a time for learning.
Considering that the main participants of informatization education are seniors, Dobong-gu has been conducting education online in a non-face-to-face manner since 2020 to prevent COVID-19 infection, and this year's education will begin in February.
The February course, consisting of six basic courses including Computer, Hangul, Smartphone UCC Creation, Smartphone, Photo Editing Tool Photoscape Utilization, and Excel, will start on February 1 and end on February 25.
The tuition is free, and without any separate application procedure, anyone can enter the YouTube channel named ‘Dobong-gu 1 Education Center’ to attend live lectures. Since it is online, there is no limit on the number of attendees.
If there are any questions during the education, participants can freely ask, and instructors monitor comments and respond to questions in real time. Detailed information such as lecture times can be found on Dobong-gu’s official website notices or the Dobong-gu Citizen Informatization Education community.
The district plans to post past broadcasts after the course ends to help students review, and during the first half of the year, it is considering one-on-one education for seniors who find it difficult to start online education by setting up a digital counseling center.
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “It is regrettable that informatization education, which has been well received by local seniors because they can actually operate computers while learning, is being conducted non-face-to-face due to COVID-19,” and added, “We are making every effort to compensate for the disadvantages of non-face-to-face education through instructors’ real-time monitoring, and we plan to carefully ensure that seniors have no inconvenience in attending.”
