[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Asung Daiso announced on the 29th that it will launch 'Artist Collaboration 2' as part of the win-win and coexistence project following last year.
The 'Artist Collaboration Project' was planned to discover emerging artists with outstanding design capabilities and provide opportunities to launch products. In January last year, 'Artist Collaboration 1' featured artists such as 'Yangchigi Artist, zzi (Jji) Artist, Nabong Artist, and Siho Artist,' releasing a total of about 20 products that gained great popularity among customers.
This time, the project not only provides emerging artists with opportunities to showcase their talents but also incorporates the meaning of social coexistence through collaboration with the social enterprise Otista. 'Otista' is a social enterprise that supports the talent rehabilitation of autistic designers and helps them achieve social independence.
Otista's products feature endangered species designed like illustrations from fairy tales. Endangered species such as 'Vancouver Island Marmot, Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat, and Stewartia' are designed like pictures from storybooks on everyday items such as market bags, recycling bins, and paper air fresheners, giving a special feeling.
An Asung Daiso official said, “We plan to continue launching products that provide opportunities for emerging illustrators to showcase their talents and offer customers fresh shopping enjoyment, along with win-win cooperation with social enterprises.”
