Director Seo Hoon Chairs NSC Standing Committee Meeting: "Consulting on Global Issues Based on Korea-US Communication"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Blue House announced on the afternoon of the 28th that it held a National Security Council (NSC) Standing Committee meeting chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office.

The attendees agreed to discuss alliance issues, as well as Korean Peninsula and global matters, based on close communication and cooperation between South Korea and the United States, following the inauguration of the new U.S. administration.

They also reviewed the situation regarding the "detention of our vessel in the Strait of Hormuz" and decided to continue comprehensive government-wide diplomatic efforts to secure the release of our citizens and vessel. In addition, measures to swiftly overcome the COVID-19 situation will be pursued.
