Muan-gun Supports Stable Settlement of Young Workers

Monthly 100,000 Won Self-Support Grant... Hope Stepping Stone Supports 69 People

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 28th that it will promote a Youth Self-Reliance Support Fund project to alleviate the living expenses burden of low-income young workers and entrepreneurs in the area, which can be used for future marriage funds, job seeking, start-up, housing costs, and student loan repayments.

The Youth Self-Reliance Support Fund project consists of a housing cost support program that provides 100,000 KRW monthly for up to one year, and a Hope Stepping Stone Savings Account program that accumulates 100,000 KRW monthly and, upon maturity after three years, pays double the amount the individual has saved, totaling 3.6 million KRW.

The housing cost support program will accept a total of 23 applicants, and the Hope Stepping Stone Savings Account program will accept a total of 69 applicants. Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria including address, age, labor, housing, and income requirements.

Applications will be accepted from the 1st to the 19th of next month at the local town or township offices of the applicant’s address, and after eligibility screening, recipients will be selected in March.

A county official stated, “We will do our best to provide guidance and publicity so that local youth can benefit from this project, which is implemented to support the housing stability and economic independence of hardworking young people.”

Meanwhile, Muan-gun has provided self-reliance support funds to 112 young people over the past three years to help them settle stably, and detailed information about the project can be found on the county website or by contacting the Regional Economy Division.
