[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Dooseok) announced on the 28th that it will provide COVID-19 disaster relief funds before the Lunar New Year holiday begins on the 11th of next month.
Governor Yoo Dooseok stated in a video briefing on the 26th that all residents will receive disaster relief funds of 100,000 won.
The total amount required for this disaster relief fund is expected to be about 4.6 billion won (entirely funded by the county) based on the population at the end of December last year, and the support will be provided in the form of Jangseong Love Gift Certificates.
The county temporarily suspended the sale of Jangseong Love Gift Certificates starting the day before to secure the certificates, and is continuing close consultations with the Jangseong County Council to complete related procedures such as enacting the disaster relief fund support ordinance and convening a special session by early next month.
Governor Yoo Dooseok said, “Although the process of promoting the disaster relief fund payment is complicated and may take a considerable amount of time, we have promptly decided to provide the funds before the Lunar New Year so that residents can use them urgently during the holiday.”
