Coupang Eats, Lunar New Year Traditional Market Food Delivery Special Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 28th that Coupang Eats will hold a 'Traditional Market Food Delivery Special Exhibition' until the 25th of next month to revitalize traditional markets.

Coupang Eats, together with the Small Enterprise and Market Service under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, planned this special exhibition to support traditional market merchants struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to quickly and safely deliver Lunar New Year food to customers who find it difficult to visit markets due to social distancing.

Customers can receive freshly made warm traditional market food delivered, and various promotions such as ▲free delivery events ▲lottery events are also prepared. The free delivery event allows anyone to download and use a 4,000 won discount coupon through the traditional market banner on the Coupang Eats app until the 15th of next month. From February 19th to 25th, a lottery event will be held for customers who use traditional markets, awarding two 10,000 won discount coupons.

Coupang Eats launched services in traditional markets in Incheon and Busan based on its know-how operating traditional markets in Seoul, and plans to continuously expand the project to Gyeonggi Province and six metropolitan cities. Park Dae-joon, CEO of Coupang's New Business Division, said, "We prepared this special exhibition to provide some support to traditional market merchants who are having a harder Lunar New Year than usual due to COVID-19," adding, "We hope this holiday will be a safe and warm time of sharing kindness with Coupang Eats."
