[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte announced on the 28th that it will advance the payment of approximately 640 billion KRW in delivery payments to help partner companies manage their funds. This decision was made considering that small and medium-sized partner companies need a large amount of funds temporarily for various purposes such as salaries and bonuses during the holidays.
The delivery payments are expected to be fully completed by February 8, three days before the Lunar New Year holiday. About 18,000 small and medium-sized partner companies from 30 affiliates including Lotte Department Store, Lotte e-commerce, Lotte Information & Communication, Lotte Construction, and Lotte Chemical are expected to benefit.
Meanwhile, on the 27th, Lotte, together with the Community Chest of Korea and others, delivered ‘Mind Quarantine Packages’ to 520 elderly people living alone nationwide. This event was held to support elderly people living alone who are experiencing emotional isolation and other difficulties due to restrictions on outdoor activities caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The Mind Quarantine Packages include companion plants, red ginseng snacks, thermometers, and heating pads.
