Hyundai Card Expands '3-Layer System' to All Members... "Subscription and Gift Services Upgraded"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Hyundai Card announced on the 28th that it has expanded the target of its card benefit system, the '3-layer system,' to all members and improved the benefits of each layer.


The 3-layer system is Hyundai Card's unique benefit structure designed to help customers use their cards more effectively. It consists of the 1st layer, which includes the basic benefits of the card held; the 2nd layer, which offers core benefits tailored to preferences through a reasonably priced subscription; and the 3rd layer, which provides personalized monthly discount services and coupons as gifts.


Since February last year, Hyundai Card conducted a pilot operation of the 3-layer system targeting about 420,000 members (18 types of cards) and confirmed positive responses. Following this, it expanded the system to all cards (78 types, excluding some affiliated and check cards) and 8.5 million members.


In particular, by expanding the 3-layer service to all members, Hyundai Card upgraded the 2nd layer subscription service and the 3rd layer gift service. First, in the 2nd layer subscription service, in addition to the existing Shopping Pack (domestic shopping and overseas direct purchase), Play Pack (travel and culture), Digital Pack (digital content), and Pet Pack (pets), the latest trends were reflected by newly adding the Dental Pack and Shaving Pack.


The Dental Pack is a package that regularly delivers toothbrush and toothpaste sets from the lifestyle brand Use Tool Company at prices more than 50% cheaper. The Shaving Pack regularly delivers premium shaving products from Wisely at prices more than 20% cheaper. In addition, Hyundai Card plans to add various subscription services such as traditional liquor and tea packages to the 2nd layer.


The 3rd layer gift service, which provides customized benefits in various areas every month, has also been strengthened. Hyundai Card has prepared about 130,000 types of benefits extracted from around 250 brands, ranging from frequently used online shopping malls and large supermarkets to popular local restaurants and cafes. Using a recommendation algorithm built with its own data science capabilities, Hyundai Card offers optimized benefits for each member. The newly recommended 3rd layer gifts each month can be used free of charge simply by applying through the Hyundai Card application (app), regardless of monthly performance, and can be used in conjunction with other existing benefits.


To commemorate the expansion of the 3-layer system, Hyundai Card is also holding an event. Until February 28, members who apply for the 2nd layer subscription packages will receive up to a 30% discount and coffee coupons. Additionally, customers who apply for the Dental Pack, Shaving Pack, and Pet Pack will receive a 15% discount on subscription fees, while those who apply for the Shopping Pack and Play Pack will receive a 30% discount and a Starbucks Americano gifticon.
