Seocho-gu Winter Survival Special Lecture... Home-Stay Breakthrough Project Promotion New Semester Perfect Adaptation: Preparing Like This - Special Lecture Filming Site

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu is launching the winter special 2021 New Year’s gift bundle “Jipkok Tapa Project” for all students in the area to help students suffering from COVID-19 blues due to COVID-19 and staying at home to have a healthy and warm winter vacation in the Year of the Ox 2021.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 and restrictions on offline learning as part of social distancing, the Seocho-gu Education Support Center’s online specialized channel “Seocho Hon Gong Project,” which helps students develop the ability to study independently, and the “Seocho Innovation Education District,” which provides educational programs beyond school boundaries throughout homes and communities, are collaborating to offer three educational services?special winter vacation lectures, New Year kit gifts, and AI specialized education?under the “2021 New Year Jipkok Tapa Project,” provided in three phases targeting all students from kindergarten to high school.

The first phase of the Jipkok Tapa Project, the special lecture “Perfect Preparation for the New Semester,” is a customized special lecture for Seocho students, organized by the Seocho-gu Education Support Center and teachers within Seocho-gu for prospective first graders in elementary, middle, and high school as well as high school seniors (grade 3).

It will be released sequentially on February 5, 8, and 9 through the Seocho Hon Gong Project YouTube channel.

The lecture for prospective first graders in elementary, middle, and high school will cover topics such as ▲changing daily routines ▲new school curriculum and life guidance ▲how to spend a fruitful winter vacation, with teachers in charge of first graders at each school level directly informing the students.

The lecture for prospective high school seniors will provide essential information such as ▲complete mastery of the last winter vacation ▲annual roadmap for high school seniors, carefully explained by the head of the high school admissions department.

The second phase of the Jipkok Tapa Project is “Home Delivery All-Class - Welcome 2021 New Year.” “Home Delivery All-Class” is a seasonal customized home participation education program that satisfies students’ learning desires, which have been fatigued by the prolonged COVID-19 situation, and shares learning effects by involving both students and parents through experiential learning at home.

Last year, it targeted elementary students, but this year the target has been expanded from kindergarteners to high school students, prepared with a diverse composition tailored to the educational concept by age group.

This “Home Delivery All-Class - Welcome New Year” is themed as a New Year gift to help students have a healthy and warm winter vacation.

Kindergarteners will receive kits including Hanbok money pouches, character mask holders, and Nordic natural moss; elementary students will get lucky catchers, mask sterilizers, and Nordic natural moss; middle school students will receive New Year wish mood lamps, card wallets, and character electric cars; high school students will get New Year wish mood lamps and flying octagons. A total of 2,000 kits will be shipped to applicants in early February.

Online class videos introducing how to make the kits will be released sequentially from February 8 on the Seocho Innovation Education District YouTube channel, where Q&A and participation reviews can be shared through comments.

Program applications start on February 3 through the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website and will be closed on a first-come, first-served basis, with one application allowed per ID.

The third phase of the Jipkok Tapa Project is “Become an AI and Coding Expert.” Since 2020, the Seocho Innovation Education District has been providing AI coding education services to nurture creative convergence talents required in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

Starting this year, considering students’ satisfaction and achievement, the program plans to fully support the cultivation and discovery of Seocho-style creative talents through a more systematic, step-by-step, and professional curriculum.

The 2021 AI and Coding Master program consists of three classes with a total of 125 students undergoing an 8-week basic, advanced, and skill training course, aiming to produce results by creating actual implementation programs or participating in internal and external competitions based on the AI and coding skills they have accumulated.

The first class starts on February 16, and applications will be accepted from February 3 through the Seocho-gu Education Support Center website (25 students per class, 3 classes, first-come, first-served).

Kwon Mi-jung, Director of the Education and Sports Department, said, “Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation since last year, external activities have been restricted, and students are tired of boredom in daily life. We hope this opportunity will satisfy their learning desires and cultivate self-directed learning management, psychological and emotional recharge, and creative convergence thinking through diverse educational programs.”
