[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Dongwon Home Food opened the third branch of its premium salad cafe "Crispy Fresh," made with pesticide-free hydroponically grown Cheongmichae (green leaf lettuce) without soil contamination, on the 28th at Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul.
Crispy Fresh recently strengthened its online delivery service in response to the increase in non-face-to-face consumption. Delivery orders now account for over 40% of Crispy Fresh's sales, and monthly average total sales are rapidly growing by 15% driven mainly by delivery demand.
Encouraged by consumer response, Dongwon Home Food opened the third branch at Yongsan I'Park Mall, a location with high foot traffic and excellent accessibility. This store is the third after the Hapjeong branch near Hapjeong Station opened last year and the delivery-only Seocho branch.
Crispy Fresh is a cafe brand specializing in premium salads made with ingredients directly produced and quality-controlled by each affiliate of Dongwon Group. The salads use premium lettuce "Cheongmichae" grown by Dongwon Group's agricultural joint venture Eoseok using pesticide-free hydroponic farming, tuna caught by Dongwon Industry, Korea's largest seafood company, Norwegian salmon, and differentiated sauces from Dongwon Home Food Samjo Seltech, the nation's top seasoning manufacturer.
The Crispy Fresh Yongsan I'Park Mall branch plans to captivate the taste buds of nearby office workers as well as customers passing through Yongsan Station with premium salads of differentiated taste and quality. Popular menu items such as "Salmon Poke" and "Tuna Poke," vegan menus using 100% plant-based meat "Beyond Meat," as well as "Beef Gold Rice," previously available only at the second branch, and the new menu "Bacon Spinach Pasta" will be offered.
To celebrate the opening, Crispy Fresh Yongsan I'Park Mall branch will sell the popular menu item "Salmon Poke" at a discounted price of 9,900 KRW to the first 100 customers daily until the 14th of next month. Customers who order over 20,000 KRW will receive a home training stretching band as a gift.
A Dongwon Home Food official said, "With consumers' growing interest in healthy food and increasing demand for convenience meals, the domestic salad market will continue to grow," adding, "We will establish ourselves as the leading brand in the salad market with fresh salads made from premium ingredients by expanding offline stores and online channels."
