Seongbuk-gu and Seongbuk Cultural Foundation Present 'Literary Exhibition 6 Kim Hoon - Here I Live'... January 28 to March 27 at Seongbuk Art Creation Center and Online
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu and the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation are holding an exhibition focused on novelist Kim Hoon.
The exhibition titled ‘Writer Planning Exhibition 6 Kim Hoon - I Live Here’ will be held from January 28 to March 27, simultaneously online and offline at the Seongbuk Art Creation Center (23 Seongbuk-ro, Seongbuk-gu) and the Writer Planning Exhibition website.
Seongbuk-gu, known for being home to many writers who lived and created works in the area, selects one writer each year to reflect on their life and works through the Writer Planning Exhibition.
The first Writer Planning Exhibition was held in 2016 featuring poet Shin Kyung-rim, followed by exhibitions on Jo Ji-hoon in 2017, Hwang Hyun-san in 2018, Park Wan-seo in 2019, and Shin Dong-yup in 2020.
In 2021, writer Kim Hoon was selected as the main subject, with an archive of his life and works prepared alongside reinterpretations by contemporary artists.
Kim Hoon spent his childhood in Donam-dong, Samseon-dong, and Seongbuk-dong in Seongbuk-gu, and has frequently expressed his affection for this area.
Last July, Seongbuk-gu formed a writer planning team to collect materials and conduct interviews with the author. Additionally, artists currently active such as Kim Won-jin, Park Kwang-soo, Jung Hyun, and Choi Yo-han were invited to prepare artworks.
‘Writer Planning Exhibition 6 Kim Hoon - I Live Here’ will also feature a special online exhibition. Through the website, visitors can watch interview videos with Kim Hoon, read his writings and biography, and experience the exhibition at the Seongbuk Art Creation Center in VR.
