[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Seven Eleven announced on the 28th that it will launch a national empathy campaign called ‘Latte-neun Mariya’ to support proper resource circulation activities in the eco-friendly era.
‘Latte-neun Mariya’ is an abbreviation of ‘Label-ttegi-neun Mariya,’ an activity that informs and encourages participation in the correct disposal of PET bottles in daily life. In December last year, Seven Eleven signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment to promote the ‘separate disposal of transparent PET bottles.’
Seven Eleven will attach promotional stickers from the Ministry of Environment about separate disposal of transparent PET bottles to the PET beverage sections of walk-in cooler refrigerators at all franchise stores nationwide. This aims to naturally expose customers to the separation disposal information at the point of purchasing PET beverages and encourage them to practice it. Additionally, Seven Eleven will hold a certification photo and comment event on its official SNS accounts, where participants remove PET bottle labels and dispose of them separately. Winners will be selected by lottery to receive upcycled products and mobile gift certificates.
A Seven Eleven official said, “A small act of removing PET bottle labels can create great social value,” adding, “Through the Latte-neun Mariya campaign, we will contribute to establishing an eco-friendly lifestyle culture and continuously carry out various eco-friendly activities for ESG practice, thereby enhancing the company’s value and competitiveness.”
