Dobong-gu Mayor Dongjin Lee Emphasizes Need to Enact and Amend Higher Sustainable Development Basic Law under the Green Growth Basic Act

Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong District, is expressing his views on 'Local Government's Response Measures for Sustainable Development.'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) held the ‘2021 First Half Regular General Meeting of the Sustainable Development Local Government Council’ as an online video conference on the 27th at the Communication Cooperation Office of the district office.

Eighteen heads of council organizations attended the meeting and engaged in a heated discussion on the topic of ‘Enactment and Amendment of Laws Related to Sustainable Development and the Position of Local Governments.’

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu stated, “For sustainable development, the enactment and amendment of laws should be promoted centered on the Framework Act on Sustainable Development, which is a higher concept than the current Framework Act on Green Growth.”

Also, at the meeting, Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu was recognized for his contributions as the former president of the Sustainable Development Local Government Council and received a plaque of appreciation from the council.
