Providing Self-Reliance Opportunities Through Employment for Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and Lower-Income Groups... Employment Commitment Allows 12-Month Extension
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is promoting the ‘2021 Intern-type Self-Support Work Project’ throughout the year to help low-income vulnerable groups find jobs and to alleviate companies' recruitment difficulties, and will begin recruiting participating companies from the 28th.
The ‘Intern-type Self-Support Work Project’ was established to provide basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups with the opportunity to work as intern employees, gain skills and experience, and become self-reliant through employment.
Participating companies include general companies as well as social and self-support enterprises; however, companies that have been penalized for fraudulent receipt of government self-support funds or violation of implementation guidelines in the past two years, or those deemed inappropriate for the purpose of the project, are excluded.
The intern dispatch period is six months, with a possible extension of 12 months if employment is confirmed. Gangnam-gu supports intern employees with a monthly salary of 1,354,860 KRW under the condition of working five days a week (8 hours per day). Overtime pay is provided by the company.
Interested companies can submit their application forms and required documents such as business registration certificates by visiting the Gangnam Regional Self-Support Center or via email or fax.
Meanwhile, on the 4th, the district opened the convenience store ‘CU Saessak Store Nonhyeon Hilltop Branch’ in cooperation with BGF Retail, providing jobs to basic livelihood security recipients facing difficulties in finding employment, leading efforts to establish policies that promote economic independence for vulnerable groups.
