[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) is conducting proactive COVID-19 testing for approximately 2,140 employees working at the district office, community service centers, and affiliated organizations.

The testing targets all employees, from civil service workers who frequently interact with residents to public health center staff on the front lines of infectious disease response, to prevent administrative gaps caused by the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that residents can visit administrative institutions with confidence.

The testing subjects include about 1,374 employees from the district office, community service centers, public health centers, and the district council, as well as 766 employees from affiliated organizations such as the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation and the Jung-gu Cultural Foundation.

The testing will be conducted over three days from the 26th to the 28th, divided into three groups to minimize work disruption caused by waiting for test results.

Meanwhile, on the 14th and 21st, the district set up and operated mobile screening clinics targeting merchants at Hwanghak-dong Central Market and Namdaemun Market. Through this, proactive COVID-19 testing was conducted for about 730 merchants who found it difficult to leave their shops during working hours to get tested.

Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "Although the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has recently started to decline, the situation is not yet safe. Through this proactive testing, we will break the chain of infection caused by silent transmission inside and outside the district office to ensure the safety of employees and residents."
