Gangdong-gu Operates Five 'LED Electronic Display Boards'

Expectations for Local Economic Revitalization through Advertising Effects on Small Business Owners and Traditional Markets... Installed at 5 Locations with High Foot Traffic Including Subway Stations to Reduce Illegal Advertisements

Gangdong-gu Operates Five 'LED Electronic Display Boards'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) has installed an 'LED electronic bulletin board' in front of Hyundai Department Store at Cheonho Intersection through a profit-type private investment project and has begun pilot operation.

Additionally, installations at four other locations?Gildong Intersection, Dunchon Intersection, Myeongil E-Mart Intersection, and Gubeundari Station Intersection?are expected to be completed by February, followed by pilot operations.

The LED electronic bulletin board is a digital media device featuring a simple design that complements the urban landscape, high resolution for excellent visibility, and various visual effects to enable effective information delivery.

The district plans to revitalize the local economy by increasing promotional opportunities for small business owners and traditional markets through the operation of the electronic bulletin boards, while providing residents with public service announcements on disasters, heatwaves, cold waves, as well as information on culture, arts, and daily life.

In particular, by meeting advertising demand through the LED electronic bulletin boards, illegal advertisements will be reduced, decreasing the occurrence of banners being torn or blown away by typhoons, which will greatly contribute to improving the cityscape and ensuring residents' safety.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “This will greatly help prevent the proliferation of illegal banners, contributing to a pleasant city environment, and we expect it will enable the delivery of various administrative information and rapid dissemination during emergency disaster situations.”
