Gwangju City Announces Recruitment for Business Operators in 광융합산업 Support Project

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that it is recruiting operators for the 'Optical Convergence Industry Support Project,' which expands the scope of business from the existing optical industry to the optical convergence industry by linking optical technology with closely related technologies in response to the changing corporate environment.

The Optical Convergence Industry Support Project consists of four programs: support for strengthening global optical convergence business competitiveness, support for statistical survey and analysis of the optical convergence industry, hosting international optical convergence industry exhibitions and conferences, and support for product testing, evaluation, and certification acquisition in the optical convergence industry.

Applicants must be corporations or organizations related to the optical industry located and operating in Gwangju City that sincerely carry out systematic support such as strengthening the competitiveness of the local optical convergence industry.

The application period is from the 3rd to the 15th of next month, and Gwangju City plans to announce the selected operators in March after comprehensively considering the eligibility of the organizations and the appropriateness of their business plans.

Corporations and organizations wishing to participate in the project can download the application form by searching for '2021 Optical Convergence Industry Support Project' in the announcement section on the city’s website starting from the 28th, and then submit it in person or by mail to the Future Industry Policy Division of the city.

Oh Dong-gyo, head of the Future Industry Policy Division, said, "We will systematically support companies by reflecting regional characteristics in this support project," and added, "We hope that many capable corporations and organizations will apply."
