This debate was initiated following Gwangju City's proposal for a public debate regarding the announcement of the private park special project plan for Central Park District 1 on the 13th.
The topic of the debate is "Urgent Issue Debate: Is the Private Park Project for Central Park District 1 Being Properly Carried Out?" and will be moderated by Park Jae-man, the standing representative of the Gwangju Citizens' Organizations Council.
In particular, civic groups such as the Gwangju Federation for Economic Justice and the Gwangju Environmental Movement Federation, experts including professors and accountants recommended by the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Architectural Institute of Korea, journalists, public officials, and project implementers will participate to share their opinions.
Shin Jae-wook, head of the city's Parks and Greenery Division, said, "We expect this to be an opportunity to resolve doubts through mutual verification based on principles of openness and transparency, and to seek improvements from the perspective of public interest."
