[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, participated in the 'Children's Traffic Safety Challenge' on the 27th at his office to prevent safety accidents in school zones.

This campaign, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was established to foster a culture prioritizing child protection and to build public consensus for preventing safety accidents in school zones.

The challenge involves taking a photo holding a sign with four driver safety rules, uploading it on social networking services (SNS), and then nominating the next participant.

Mayor Noh said, "Although penalties for accidents caused by careless driving have been significantly strengthened, it is very regrettable that news of children's traffic accidents continues. We will work together with the local community to establish a traffic culture that prioritizes pedestrians."

Mayor Noh joined the challenge upon nomination by Lee Cha-young, Mayor of Goesan County, and nominated Congressman Jin Sung-jun as the next participant to continue the 'Children's Traffic Safety Challenge.'

Meanwhile, the district is continuously expanding smart crosswalks, ground traffic lights, and intersection alert systems to create a safe walking environment.
